World Year of Physics 2005

The World Year of Physics 2005 mark the 100th anniversary of the year (1905) where Albert Einstein's great works are published. This celebration will also raise the public awareness of physics. It all traces back to 1905 when Einstein published 3 great works on a leading German physics journal about his discovery of light quanta -- light consists of discrete, independent particles of energy; a detailed explanation on Brownian motion -- random dance of microscopic particles; and the theory of relativity -- the relativity principle and constancy of the speed of light. His discoveries and major contributions that revolutionized classical scientific thoughts lead him to be widely regarded as the greatest scientist of the 20th century.
A global relay of light is taking place at this moment to commemorate WYP. Lights are on in places around the world including Princeton in USA, Taipei in Taiwan, Busan and Seoul in Korea...and more.

New Bookstore

I'm pretty hyped about the article I saw on Sunday's paper. A new bookstore is opening, soon! Borders, an American bookstore chain is setting up its biggest store in the world HERE! Located at Lvl 1 & 2, Berjaya Times Square, it eats up 60,000 sq ft of space and provides more than 200,000 booktitles!! Gosh, I'm drooling already~! It's open to public today (19.4.2005) starting from 5pm but I'm not sure people can start purchasing or not. Geez geez!!! Me soooo excited!!! Can't wait to pay Borders a visit~ ;)
